Tips for eating on the go
Just because you are busy, it doesn’t mean you can’t eat nutrient rich. Here are dozens of foods and practical ideas for fast food that’s healthy.
At Home
Ready-made portion of nuts in snap lock bags
Piece of fruit
Chopped up veggie sticks with hommus
Tub of yoghurt
Low fat cheese with rice crackers
Muesli Bar
Reduced fat custard with fruit
Fruit smoothie
Can of tuna with topped with low fat mayonnaise
Low fat cottage cheese with chopped banana, cinnamon and a dash of honey
At the Food Court
Choose salad bars and ask for dressing in a separate container
Sandwiches/rolls/wraps with salad and lean protein (ask for no margarine)
Plain hamburger – ask for extra salad, no margarine, butter or mayonnaise.
